Eight quilting friends spent the weekend at Newkirk and had an awesome time! The facility was super clean, and the attention to detail was perfect--fresh flowers in every room, quilt magazines, super soft sheets, fresh fruit. The work space was generous, with provided Ott lights, extension cords, two design walls and plenty of outlets. Information was provided for local restaurants and quilt/craft stores. We are already talking about our next visit. Thanks Karen for a great venue and experience!

Perfect retreat space!

My church's craft group scheduled a retreat here, and it was PERFECT! We've already made reservations for our next retreat -- we liked it that much. The beds were comfy, the working space expansive and well-equipped, the decor homey and welcoming, the small touches (fresh flowers, fresh fruit, muffins and coffee, etc.) were amazing. We had almost no complaints and lots to love. It was wonderful to have space to relax away from our workspace, and it was even better to have a dedicated dining area so we didn't have to eat around our sewing machines. I highly recommend this space for any quilting/crafting retreat!

Creations Sew Clever

Eight of us quilting girlfriends stayed for 2 nights and 3 days at this lovely, cozy historic Guest House. We had a blast! The facility was comfortable and well suited for 8 quiltaholics. We each fixed one meal in the tiny but very comfortably equipped kitchen. It was sew nice to have a dedicated dining room to eat in, rather than try to eat around our machines and projects. The 8 twin beds were comfy! Mattresses were pillowy and new and the flannel sheets were sew welcomed! Little homey touches provided by the owner made us feel especially welcome! Fresh flowers, breakfast goodies, Keurig coffee (as well as a full-size coffee maker), 'real' towels and wash cloths, all the sewing tables we needed, Ott Lights, extension cords. It was a wonderful experience we intend to repeat!! Thank you Karen and Dave!

My friend and I just spent two nights and three days at the wonderful is a very interesting house filled with lots of quilted wall hangings and crafty decor. The set up for quilting was grand. We settled in within an hour of arriving and left our supplies out till we left. Plenty of space and good lighting and QUIET except for our laughter. We had such a fun time.brought food for one meal to cook and then had one meal out to explore our surroundings. Stopped at six quilt shops in the area on our traveling days. Karen made us feel welcomed with little treats and goodies in the freezer and around the house. Great time and can not wait til we will return with our sisters for another fun adventure.

Our September stay

Six friends and I had a recent visit to Newkirk Guest House for a 4 day/3 night Quilt Away. From the moment that Dave greeted us on our arrival until we left on Thursday we had fun! The home is very tastefully decorated and is comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast provided was way beyond our expectations and the small vases of daisies in each room were a beautiful touch. The areas for sewing were roomy and the beds comfy! Dave and Karen are the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome. We haven't stopped talking about the good time we had - but in a way "would like to keep the place to ourselves!!" LOL We can't wait to return next year! Thanks Karen and Dave! Lovely house with plenty of architectural delights in each room. But even better was the space for sewing. It's roomy, well lit, and has everything I needed to set up 'my area' - nice tables, ironing stations, design walls, and even a huge solid cutting table. It's a great place to come and relax with friends while savoring a whole weekend of sewing.

Bride & family

We had the good fortune of staying at the lovely Newkirk Guest House Quilt Retreat for our daughters wedding in Granville, Ohio. The retreat was able to accommodate our large family as well as provide us the space and equipment needed for all of those last minute dress alterations/preparations needed for an out of state wedding. The beautiful brick victorian home has a full function kitchen, 3 bedrooms, sleeping 8, and 2.5 baths, and large well layed out quilting rooms equipped with everything needed for an enjoyable and relaxing quilters weekend.

A group of eight of us quilters recently spent a weekend at Newkirk Guesthouse. We really liked the charm of the decor, the space we had for quilting and the area. Karen and her husband were excellent hosts and ver helpful. We were all amazed at how well the kitchen was stocked for breakfast. There are several quilt shops in the area. We visited a quilt shop in Newark, Bunny's, and found great prices, had a trip to JoAnn's. We tried a few local places for dinner and lunch but enjoyed the Texas Roadhouse the best. I highly recommend a weekend away at Newkirk Guesthouse. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

I just returned from a wonderful quilt away weekend at the Newkirk Guest House in Newark, Ohio. We had a fabulous weekend! Plenty of room for 8 quilters to set up at their own roomy sewing stations yet still be together for talking, laughing, and sewing support! Separate kitchen and large dining room made it easy to take breaks and enjoy meals together. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable with a beautiful vintage look and feel. I highly recommend the Newkirk Guest House to any groups looking for a quilt retreat location.
