Newark Earthworks/Great Circle Museum -- a 5 minute drive from the Guest House, the Newark Earthworks are part of the largest system of connected geometric earthworks built anywhere in the world, and one of only three sites in North America that qualify as an ancient wonder. Buckeye Lake Cranberry Bog --- yes, we said 'Cranberry Bog'! Nearby Buckeye Lake is home to Ohio's only bog island, home to rare orchids and carnivorous plants. While a permit is required to visit the bog because of the delicate nature of the preserve, you can schedule a tour May thru September through the Greater Buckeye Lake Historical society. Buxton Inn -- we just love this restaurant where my daughter 'swears she saw the fabled Ghost Cat' when we were being taken to our table one evening!
